Where do I start talking about India...She is a darling....every time I go back to Her, I get to see a new facet. And although some experiences may best be forgotten, She is mine and I am Hers. I can proudly say that I am an Indian.
But what does it mean to be an Indian? Is it just remembering India and your friends with whom you used to spend endless hours doing small talk? Or is it missing the good ol' days when you used to bunk college to go for drives to beaches or watching films, the late/all night parties? And then revising at a frenetic pace for the exams next day? Is it the festivals that you celebrated with your friends? Is it the rain that freshens you BIG time, but then sometimes stops the life? No. India is much more than that.
Am I still an Indian? Does holding an Indian passport make me Indian? Or does a change of passport stop me from being an Indian anymore? Is there a difference between being a citizen of India and being an Indian? Sometimes these questions haunt me and I have tried to answer them to the best of my ability. I will post my ideas on this soon on this page.
