Born and brought up in Mumbai, I completed my schooling at St. Xavier's High School (part of Ryan Group) in Borivli. After completing one year of degree college doing B. Com. at Mithibai College, my family moved to London, UK.

I decided to do A Levels. Barnet College, being one of the reputed colleges, was the most obvious choice for study. It is said that A Levels are considered to be even more difficult than university. I chose Maths, Physics and Computing.

Then came university. Located at the centre of London, very close to the popular Oxford Street, UCL is one of the highly regarded universities in the UK. Currently, I am in the final year of university. Click here for UCL's profile.

Projects:

2003 - 2004

Successfully managed a project involving a team of 8. The project involved extending a commercial tool called XLinkit. Xlinkit is an online tool written on the Java Platform that provides an interface through which users can validate the integrity of the data in an XML file against a set of given rules. The project was to extend the tool to validate UML schema expressed as XMI in both the Together and Rational format giving choice of XDE to the end user. The resulting web based output is browser independent for cross platform compatibility. Furthermore the extension requires no further modification to an existing Xlinkit installation.

Technologies used: Java 2 SE 1.4.2, XML 1.1, UML 1.3, UML 1.4, JSP 1.2, TogetherJ 6.0, Apache Tomcat server 5.0, XLinkit 5.3, XLinkit 6.0.

2002 - 2003

Was a member of a team of 3. Here the project involved developing a security system for a building using Java Server Pages. The most basic version of the system would open/start and close/shut various parts of the building by selecting various commands. The extension would involve automatic switching on and off based on the time of the day.

Technology used: JavaServer Pages 1.1, Microsoft Access 2000, Apache Tomcat Server 4.3.
